买球 Mascot "The Vanguard"

Vance-Granville Community College's official mascot is the Vanguard, personified by an armored knight.

The Vanguard mascot is a symbol of strength, leadership, service and readiness to face new challenges. The word itself suggests innovation and forward thinking. The idea for the mascot originally came from the 买球 Student Government Association. The Board of Trustees approved the concept of the mascot on March 19, 2007. Award-winning artist Grey Blackwell of Oxford then worked with 买球 staff to develop the logo, which was unveiled in 2008, shortly before the Vanguards began fielding athletic teams as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
